State-owned Kerrville-Schreiner Park covers 500 acres of undeveloped land, also along the Guadalupe River.

One of the draws of Kerrville is its year-round mild climate. Average temperatures fluctuate only between about 45 degrees and 80 degrees. It rarely gets warmer than the high-90s or cooler than the low-30s. Annual precipitation is about 32 inches on average, concentrated in May, June, September and October. Year-round sunshine is about 55%.
